The gala benefits Hinsdale Center for the Arts, the
designated regional arts center for the west suburban region
encompassing western Cook and all of DuPage counties. This
year alone, HCA brought the arts to over 150,000 people
living in 70 different communities.
“The annual gala is built upon the Hinsdale Center for
the Arts’ belief that the arts are meant to be celebrated
and shared- enriching us all,” said Greg DiDomenico,
Executive Director.
The Board of Directors of Hinsdale Center for the Arts,
led by its President, Jim Durkan used the occasion to
recognize volunteerism as an essential component of the
mission of Hinsdale Center for the Arts to celebrate and
share the arts with the community at large. Several awards
were presented to people who have demonstrated an
extraordinary commitment to Hinsdale Center for the Arts
through their volunteer efforts.
The Volunteer Award Was awarded to Julie McGue and
Linda Legner, members of the HCA Guild in recognition of
their efforts in the success of the Holiday Home Tour.
The Community Award Was awarded to The Doings
Newspaper in recognition and appreciation of its efforts to
keep HCA in the forefront of the community. Pam Lannom,
Editor of the Doings accepted the award.
Board Director Award Each year Hinsdale Center for
the Arts recognizes a board member who has made a difference
to the community. The 2006 recipient of the award is Peter
Bokos.
HCA has been providing a wide range of visual and
performing arts programs including exhibits, classes, music
lessons, workshops, festivals and outreach programs to
children and adults throughout the western suburbs of
Chicago for 26 years. HCA is supported by contributions from
corporations and individuals, grants from foundations and
the Illinois Arts Council, earned revenues from classes and
operations, and proceeds from annual fundraising events.
